You're at the final phase of setting up your PC. The main differences lie in features, performance, and use cases. Windows 10 offers broad compatibility and modern tools, while Windows Server suits business needs. Windows 11 focuses on a fresh interface and improved security. Enterprise and Pro versions provide advanced settings and support for professional environments. Student and basic editions are lighter and more affordable. Choose based on your specific requirements!

If you're unsure about the distinctions, stick with the usual.

Avoid the Pro version—it includes features I don’t need and consumes more space on your drive.

If applicable, choose the Student edition—it's the Pro version of Windows priced at a quarter. No enterprise edition required unless you're in an enterprise role needing special features.

I'm sure you're looking for the basics—basically just the core Windows 8 editions. Keep this comparison chart handy; it's handy for quickly seeing how different Windows versions stack up.

You're likely considering Windows 8.1 Core. For details on Core versus Pro, check out the link provided. Enterprise, N, and student versions are generally unnecessary. P.S. "Core" refers to the standard Windows 8.1 edition.

I initially liked this option but ultimately chose Windows 8.1 Pro. For everyday use like basic tasks, regular Windows 8.1 should suffice. Office functionality won't stand out, even during gaming.
