Hello
A new Asus laptop could be purchased. I already own an Asus Zenbook bought in 2016.
The official home page lists this model under the For Home category, and in the laptop menu it also appears in the For Work category where the ExpertBook model is shown.
Both seem suitable for development in the Java world... but it’s unclear which category is more appropriate.
Could you provide some guidance on their differences? I’d like to know which category to choose.
Notes
I’m not a web designer, so I’m okay with any extra video card available by default—preferably an NVidia. The specific RAM isn’t crucial for me.
I work with Java, Gradle, Maven, STS4, Jenkins, and more; later I might add Docker and related tools. Database needs like MySQL or Postgres are also important.
I only use a single, simple screen as a typical laptop, so I don’t need extra complexity such as a secondary small screen or 360-degree display.
Thank you for your understanding
Expertbooks uses Intel Iris for graphics, while Zenbook features real GPUs.
