Good evening, I tried turning up the speed on my CPU and graphics card today, but I think my computer might have been broken inside that process. After playing some games for a while, things started crashing often. Then I turned down the graphics card speed to see if that was the problem. My PC started making weird electrical noises like crackling sounds. It shut off on its own and there is a smell of burning. Now my computer will not turn back on at all. How do I find out what's wrong here and how can I fix it? This thing used an old graphics card from a gigabyte 980ti so maybe time has run out anyway. Can any of you help me with this? Best regards, Tousain.

It sounds silly, but just listen to your nose! First unplug everything from the wall. Then dig around looking for that strong, hot smell like a pan full of oil.

My CPU is an Intel i5 6600K running at 4.8GHz and 1.46 volts. I have two sticks of RAM in a Vengeance kit at 4000MHz, and my graphics card is a Gigabyte 980TI with the Windforce model. My motherboard is an MSI Z270 Pro Carbon board. For storage, I use a 256GB HDD that runs on SSD (OS) software plus a 1TB HDD, and I am using a 450W PSU for power.
