The MacBook Air won’t start or isn’t responding.
In early 2015, the 13" MacBook Air rebooted after an upgrade to macOS Catalina but never started again. It displays a specific screen and prevents access to recovery or boot options. To resolve this, check for hardware issues, verify system integrity, and consider factory reset if necessary.
I really appreciate the new features, but writing this from Catalina is tricky—both the install process and Mojave had issues. Have you tried opening Internet Recovery? It will download the original OSX that came with your Mac, which you can then upgrade from. The boot menu via USB should always function because it’s in EFI. Have you enabled File Vault? Depending on what’s wrong, your data might be at risk. If you need assistance, just let me know—I’m a Mac user (10 years or so) and I’m okay with Windows too. And why didn’t you update to Catalina? You’re getting the latest version now!
