The M.2 SSD ceased functioning unexpectedly.
This system has operated reliably for roughly a year now. Early this morning I experienced a bit of concern—I typically leave my PC running continuously. Upon waking, I noticed it was trapped in the BIOS setup. After some basic checks, everything seemed functional except the C drive (Samsung 980 Pro 2TB), which failed to appear even in the BIOS. I was anticipating a lengthy troubleshooting process, but simply shutting it down for a few hours resolved the issue. Here are the full specifications: https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/QvwTRK My concern is whether anyone understands why this occurred. Are there any steps I should adopt to prevent a similar situation? I’ve encountered problematic M.2 drives before, but this particular problem hasn’t happened before. For now, I’m focusing on backing up important data from the C drive and hoping for a smooth recovery.
Capture a screenshot of the drive or secure your files promptly. Also verify whether your 980 model is among those impacted by the firmware problem they experienced.
