Since you also have the official Minecraft client working fine, it suggests a compatibility or configuration issue. Could you check with them? I also noticed it's only 1.8.9—actually just tested that release, and it doesn’t work. The 1.20.2 version is fine in both the official client and lunar, but soon a school bedwars tournament will be coming up, and I’d really like to get ready for it, which isn’t possible with this one.
