I was using my laptop and it became slow, so I restarted it. It began a system update when it shut down, and I heard a beep like the Windows BSOD. After turning it off, I powered it back on; it turned on but didn’t display anything. I pressed the power button again, and the fan started spinning, though nothing appeared. I tried BIOS settings and a hard reset by removing the battery, but no improvement. This is my laptop for schoolwork—any advice would be greatly appreciated. Please let me know what else you need.

Are you sure the system was turned off during the BIOS update?

I believe it was a Windows update, as I’ve never received a BIOS update before. It appeared on the loading screen right after startup, then went black with a loud beep. After that, I turned it off. I’m being honest—I’m really worried I might have messed up something. Right now I’m panicking about possible system corruption.
