The left USB ports on your laptop aren’t functioning after you applied the new thermal paste.
my laptop is an Acer Predator Helios 300 with a Predator Helios 300 RTX 2060. it’s been running at high temperatures during gaming, so i considered changing the thermal paste. i used Cooler Master MasterGel Pro to replace it and everything seemed fine until now. after reinstalling all components, the issue persisted—my left USB 3.0 ports stopped working. i tested my mouse, headset, etc., but device manager showed everything normal. there’s a “device not migrated” warning in the logs, which I’m not sure what it means. i tried opening the case again and reconnecting cables, but nothing worked. any advice? could a new build help? thanks for your support.
I'm sorry, with the cables I was thinking about were the fans. All the cables required for removing the heatsink were taken out, and they didn't connect to the USB ports—it went straight to the motherboard. Thanks!
The solution involved using a direct connection between the USB and the motherboard without wires.
