I recently purchased a laptop with an Intel i7-9750H. It initially scored high at a Cinebench rating of 1224. Following reports about recent Intel vulnerabilities, I installed several Windows updates, which lowered my score to around 1140 or 1090 depending on the day. Is this just a perception, or have the patches actually impacted performance?

Maybe it's just an app that started running in the background and is consuming resources during your tests. It could be anything. Keep monitoring your system's activity closely; something unusual might become apparent.

The room's temperature or recent activities could have caused the CPU to slow down slightly. This issue usually falls within normal limits. Which laptop are you using?

It's a Dell G7 7790. Performance remains stable with consistent temperatures and clocks during high load. Running at 3.6Ghz is the minimum observed, while most tests show 3.8 to 4Ghz.
