My laptop suddenly slowed down without warning. I experienced mouse lag and occasional stuttering for about three seconds. After resetting it, the issue persisted but performance dropped significantly—games now run at half their previous speed and often have tiny delays. For instance, Apex Legends used to be smooth at 60-144 FPS, but now drops to 40-80 FPS with noticeable micro-stutters. Geometry Dash also suffers, going from 360 stable frames to 144-240 FPS with similar issues. I’ve tried updating GPU drivers, installing AMD chipset drivers, enabling Ultimate Performance in Windows 11, and adjusting settings in Alienware Command Center. My machine is a Dell G15 5515 Ryzen Edition with Ryzen 5 5600H, Radeon graphics, 8GB RAM, and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050. It’s only been about a year old, yet I’m concerned. Could this be a hardware problem or something fixable?

Consider adding an additional 8GB stick to achieve 16GB with dual-channel speed. Performance might drop significantly if you're relying on single-channel operation, potentially harming CPU efficiency.

Many laptops now include just 8GB of memory. I double-checked the specifications before purchasing, but I originally intended to get 16GB. It’s important to understand which models might have had issues.

However, things weren't always that way—it used to work well, so I considered purchasing another stick, but because the performance was solid, I decided it wasn't essential.

Wouldn't it help if you adjusted a few power settings in the lower-right corner? I’m aware my performance shifts a lot based on the battery mode I’m using.

All available choices work properly, even if switching power doesn’t seem to influence results on that specific method

I’m certain my Acer Predator is struggling when I’m on save battery mode, especially with only 45 frames in Valorant.
