My laptop sometimes fails to show an image on its internal screen. It appears at times, shows distorted visuals, or displays a blank white area with a black bar. The external display works properly. A Windows reinstall didn’t resolve the problem. Specifications include an Acer Nitro 5 i7 12650h, Intel Iris Xe 3070 Ti, 16GB RAM, and a 1TB SSD. The internal display runs at 1440p and 165Hz. The issue started two days after purchase. The service center claims it’s a motherboard fault, but they’ve been searching for a replacement part for over a month. Absolutely, it sounds like a hardware problem. It's frustrating having to solder everything now, often needing to replace the entire board if something fails. I'd consider using an external display and hold off until they fix it or I return the device for a replacement.

Really disappointing purchase. The warranty only covers part replacements, not full product swaps. It seems Acer is being slow—mentioning they've been checking warehouses for over a month. I'm using my TV for testing and don't have an external display, so it's hard to use consistently. Also, I can't take it to the college. I'll keep this open in case someone finds a solution. (By the way, the bios screen is visible.)

Usually they don’t adjust things easily, and they’re not responding quickly enough. I’m worried about this. I’ve considered asking Acer more firmly, emphasizing how important the device is for you. Have you tried adjusting the GPU’s voltage? You can use MSI Afterburner (from the official source) and lower your GPU’s clock speed. This might help if the issue is with a faulty GPU, though I don’t see other solutions.

I’m willing to give it a shot, but the HDMI output I’m using relies on the discrete GPU and functions well, so I’m unsure what might be the problem. I’ve been discussing this with Acer every other day, and I’ll wait a bit before trying another solution just in case.

when such issues arise, I’d carefully inspect the cable connecting the GPU to the screen inside. These connections tend to wear down with frequent use—opening and closing the laptop each time accelerates the damage. This part is also one of the most likely to fail in a laptop, and fixing it usually costs just 10 to 50 dollars, which is far cheaper than replacing the GPU or the entire screen.

I thought the same thing too—I assumed Acer checked the hardware directly because OP mentioned they were pointing fingers at the board. I wouldn’t try a do-it-yourself fix unless you still have coverage and have some patience.
