I own an ASUS TUF F15 that was functioning properly and delivering high frames until recently, where it consistently limited games to 60 fps. The unusual behavior is that after unplugging the charger, the frame rate returns to normal. Could you assist?

Windows behaves differently on battery versus when connected to a power source. On battery, performance is reduced and integrated graphics are utilized. When plugged in, discrete graphics are used and full CPU performance is achieved. However, this can cause heat buildup that some cooling solutions struggle to manage, leading to thermal throttling. Monitoring tools like HWMonitor or HWinfo can show current, minimum, and maximum CPU temperatures. For Intel processors, a maximum temperature of 100°C indicates throttling. The CPU will lower its multiplier and power consumption to protect itself until conditions improve. At a reduced multiplier, your CPU usage might reach 100%. What can you do?

When using GeForce Experience, consider turning off Nvidia whisper mode if it is active.

I have both battery boost and whispermode turned off, my armoury crate mode is on performance, but the problem still persists

Windows behaves differently on battery versus when connected to a power source. On battery mode, performance is reduced and integrated graphics are utilized. When plugged in, discrete graphics are used and full CPU performance is achieved. However, this can cause overheating, which some cooling solutions struggle to manage. Consequently, thermal throttling may occur. Monitoring tools like HWMonitor or HWinfo can display current, minimum, and maximum CPU temperatures. For Intel processors, a maximum temperature of 100°C indicates throttling. To protect the CPU, lowering the multiplier and power consumption helps until conditions improve. At a lower multiplier, the CPU might operate at full capacity. What can be done? Check that your cooler vents are unobstructed and the fan is running. It may seem unusual, but adjusting the power profile to a maximum of 90% instead of the default 100% can help. You might not immediately notice a drop in performance.

Ensure the window power configuration is correct after connecting. What setting do you see?

Turn off the armoury crate. Verify your Nvidia control panel 3d settings for the GPU power setting.

Just completed it and it still isn't resolved. It's really annoying because the first week everything worked smoothly, then suddenly all of a sudden the caps on games like Valorant and League of Legends drop to 60 FPS. I tried CS:GO too, but the FPS there isn't capped and it functions properly, even reaching up to 400 FPS on high settings. Extremely frustrating.
