My nearly 6-year-old MSP GP72 Leopard (2017) suddenly wouldn’t wake up from sleep. The MSI logo appears during startup but keeps showing instead of launching Windows. Even when I let it drain the battery, the issue persists. After removing the battery and reinserting it, the problem continues. When the MSI logo appears, the numlock or capslock feature isn’t working, so there’s no way to access BIOS. I’m worried about the motherboard or CPU if this is serious. If the boot drive is faulty, at least I might reach BIOS before hitting the MSI logo.

Consider removing the boot drive and accessing the BIOS settings; a failing hard drive might stop the system from starting altogether (I experienced this issue recently).

regrettably it wasn't the issue, I deleted both SSD and HDD and ended up in the same place.

Sure, I can help with that. Just remove the CMOS battery for a moment and then we'll get the system back to normal.
