Hey there. Here’s the main point: I brought my HP Pavilion to a tech shop claiming the operating system was damaged. They fixed it and it worked again after a week. My girlfriend picked it up and tested it at home—it still didn’t function properly. When I pressed the power button, it would attempt to boot but then shut down instantly. The only visible sign was the power button LED flashing and turning off after about three seconds. Before taking it back, I tried using it with and without a battery. After returning it, we checked the connection and found one of the cables connecting the power button to the motherboard was missing. That cable seemed to be the culprit since it worked before repairs. Now the power button LED wouldn’t light up at all. I’ve attached videos and photos if you need more details. Help?

One more thing: it does detect the AC Adapter charging, as there is an LED next where you insert barrel plug of the adapter (I think it's called barrel plug, english isn't my first language)

They might not be addressing the issue because they haven’t received it yet or there’s another reason.

They informed me the operating system was damaged. It started up normally for them, yet I couldn’t get it to work. They assured me it would be resolved. If the OS had been broken, I could have booted into BIOS, but that’s not possible. Moreover, I swapped out the SSD completely without success. Edit: I returned the laptop twice—once claiming a corrupt OS issue and again saying it wasn’t fixed. Each time they claimed it was resolved, but the second attempt made things worse.

They cut the clip from the port where the ribbon cable should be connected. It seems like they intentionally damaged your laptop, making you think you broke it yourself when you didn’t. Their mistake is clear—they just forced the cable in with hot glue. Overall, this was a simple fix if you had the right tools.

Take it back to the store and let them repair it. Avoid paying additional fees for errors. Before bringing it home, check it out at the shop. Restart and reset several times to confirm the fix works correctly.

The cable is stuck and isn't coming out easily, possibly due to weak connection. I'm not sure what to do next.

I attempted that, but they said they won’t accept my laptop back for some reason. That’s why I’m mainly using this forum since I don’t want to go to another tech store and end up with a worse result.
