I own an Acer Aspire V3 711g laptop that I use for gaming and video watching during holidays. It’s running very slowly, with only 1mb per second for disk write and read speeds, which doesn’t match its advertised specs of around 230 mb/s. The machine is several years old and had its hard drive replaced because of a mechanical issue. I’m looking for assistance in identifying and fixing the problem if possible. Thank you for your help.

How much space is used on the SSD? Also, is everything functioning properly?

To estimate the amount needed for a replacement SSD, consider your current storage usage and the capacity of the new drive.

Your HDD supports only SATA-150, while any SSD would work with SATA-300 or 600 based on your laptop's chipset.

Thank you lvt and rgd1101 for your assistance. I plan to go to my nearby computer repair shop upon returning home and request they order a replacement SSD for the HDD. They are available in price ranges from 45 to 80 euros, which should allow me to save up in one month.
