It was applied with nail holes (gold detail), as shown in the photo. The second image shows the screen adjusted for clarity. I don’t have professional welding skills, but I’m trying to fix this myself. Idea: using epoxy glue could work well or there might be a better method. Edited March 12, 2025 by sheffdeveloper

do you have a drill with smaller drill bits and some small screwdrivers, and two bolts with nuts?

these areas align perfectly when you remove tiny plastic fragments and insert a bolt, paperclip, or metal wire, then wrap it around them.

Tiny brass components are pressed into plastic screw bosses to form threads that fit standard machine screws. Notice the small ridges on the exterior that once secured them. Consumer laptops made mostly of plastic tend to bother me about this design. You might consider applying JB Weld two-part epoxy around the screw holes and reinserting the brass parts, though the adhesive needs good grip. Alternative options include using small bolts or lock nuts, as suggested by @strange13930—just ensure there’s enough space around those areas. The most reliable solution is swapping out the laptop’s bottom housing, which you can usually find separately for older models. If unavailable, purchasing a replacement in good condition works as well.

This refers to the lower housing component that protects the internal parts of the laptop. It’s not damaged, but there’s an issue with the area inside the device.
