You just got your new Dell Inspiron 16 and installed all the drivers and updates. When trying to play Minecraft with shaders, performance was extremely poor—well under 40 FPS even with low shader settings. Checking hwinfo revealed the GPU only reached 210 MHz and used just 2-6 watts, far below its potential. The Intel graphics are being fully utilized. For better results in games, what options exist to make the RTX 4060 perform optimally? Also, your Windows doesn’t let you pick Minecraft for performance settings; it prompts for admin access even though you're logged in as admin.

Open your laptop's BIOS settings and disable the Intel built-in graphics. It seems this is often the case for users facing similar issues.

No, you can't use the Intel GPU while on battery power in that setup.

It shouldn't significantly impact battery usage, as current GPUs perform well in idle or web browsing settings.

The problem disappeared, and I managed to enable high performance mode for Minecraft in Windows by choosing the launcher. Now it's running at 250 FPS instead of 40.
