Hi, guys!
My Lenovo V310 overheated during work and shut down automatically. Now it won’t turn on and keeps producing a buzzing sound. When I try to power it up again, it makes louder clicking noises, more intense than before. Initially, there was no noise when it was turned off. The sound started after I attempted to restart it and hasn’t stopped. At first, it was just a normal buzz, but now it’s also clicking every second, which is less noticeable than the clicks when I press the power button. This issue has happened three times.

The first two times it turned off by itself, but then it came back on when I pressed the power button. This time it didn’t turn on at all. What could be causing this?

I’m sure the hard drive wasn’t damaged. Could it be related to the motherboard? Please confirm so I know exactly what needs fixing. If I take it to a repair shop, be careful—they’re known scammers and might try to charge you for parts you didn’t actually need.

Thanks in advance!
P.S.: I tried holding the power button for 30 seconds, but that didn’t help. The laptop still makes that clicking buzzing sound. The battery seems fine inside, but I can’t open the whole thing just to check the battery because of the risk of breaking the plastic casing.

Consider adding an audio or video clip to illustrate the steps mentioned. You may want to take apart the laptop and check the cooling assembly for any blockages or dirt in the vents and fan. It’s likely the fan will need replacing. Also, after unplugging the battery, try using the power brick to restart the laptop. Be sure to mention this in your response so the person knows exactly what to do if you take it to a repair shop—avoiding scammers who might overcharge for unnecessary fixes. The process usually involves trial and error, moving through a checklist until you find the issue. If you’re unsure, the device could end up in worse hands than at a professional repair service.

Thank you for your reply, Lutfij!
Please review the video linked below.
You may be correct about the fan.
The laptop hasn't been cleaned since purchase. I managed to slightly open the bottom panel, but there was a lot of dirt.
I couldn't fully open it without the right tools; even with my nails, I only managed to get it halfway. Pressing it might damage the casing.
I think I'll try using proper tools and check if anything is blocking the fan.
Quick question: the laptop is off but still making noises. Could it possibly explode or something if I don't fix it soon?
I don't want to pack it up after work just in case it breaks while I'm riding my motorcycle.

Because the buzzing sound is coming precisely from that side, I thought it might be related to the hard disk. However, when I heard it from the fan side, my heart rate slowed down and I felt more relaxed, knowing I hadn't lost my hard disk this time as I had with my old laptop.

I focused a lot on narrowing it down.
The noise comes from one of my speakers, specifically the left one.
Plugging out the battery stops the speaker from working, but it starts again when the charger is connected.
Turning on my laptop without the battery doesn’t work—when I plug in the charger, the fan runs at full speed and no lights turn on.
I even tried connecting the battery, thinking it needed to be plugged in.
But only the fan activates at full speed, not the laptop.
What do you think might be causing this now?
Looking forward to your answer!

For a reason, I think the motherboard might be the issue. But then, the fan, speakers, and charging port are still functioning, which are all linked to the motherboard. Could it be that the main half of the motherboard failed, similar to the part housing the CPU?

Well, my motherboard seems to be in trouble. I discovered this issue and the person suggests removing the RAM and attempting to power it up. If there are no sounds or any activity, then the board is likely damaged.
Solved! - Lenovo laptop won't turn on, spins fans when plugged in
I own a Lenovo Y 50-70. It hadn't been used for a while and wasn't connected to a power source. I tried turning it on one day—nothing happened. After plugging it in, the fans began making noise but no lights appeared, and it wouldn't shut off even when I pressed the power button...
