The laptop is not functioning well.
I just received my laptop back after repairs and checked if all updates were applied before installing new GPU drivers. My machine is an HP Pavilion Gaming Ryzen 7 3rd gen with 16GB RAM and a GTX 1650. After downloading GTA, I noticed only 20 frames during loading and just 10 frames while playing. Previously, it ran smoothly at over 60 FPS. I adjusted the settings in the NVIDIA control panel to prioritize performance over quality, set the GTX 1650 to performance mode, and changed global settings to balance power usage. The GPU dropped to 40% while still showing 20 frames. I used a 65W charger instead of the 150W one, which was replaced during repair. I also forgot to mention that it previously maintained 60 FPS on battery power. It seems the charger might be the issue, but it should support at least 60 FPS on a 65W charger. Could anyone help me confirm this before purchasing a new one? Also, after the GPU hit 40%, restarting the laptop restored it to full performance with the same settings. Thank you for your assistance!
Verify CPU and VRAM speeds too - I realized my system wouldn't reach near maximum performance with a weaker power supply. The 150W rating is justified considering the increased weight and expense compared to the 65W model.
Verify your GPU's core and memory speed. If they're significantly lower than expected, the charger might be the issue.
I just verified it based on the GPU specs, and the clock speed is 1395 as expected.
