Hi, I noticed your Dell Vostro 3405 has been running for about two months. The fan used to run quietly, but recently it started making a faint buzzing sound and then got louder, causing the laptop to shake. Could this be a sign of overheating, a failing fan, or something else? Please let me know if you have any details about recent usage or changes. Thanks!

I’d start by using compressed air on the fan to check for obstructions. It could be a faulty fan, after all. Also, review the instructions to possibly adjust fan settings—it’s possible it’s increasing speed unnecessarily.

It seems the audio didn't sound right at first, and even now it's not playing fast enough. The noise continues but is softer than before.

the laptop previously experienced the same issue, so a new fan was purchased from ebay.
