I recently attempted to install a Kioxia 2TB Nvme SSD (PCIe Gen 4x4, model KXG70PNV2T04) from a functioning system. My laptop currently uses a 1TB Samsung 980 as its main boot drive and operates perfectly with just that one drive. The issue begins when I insert the new SSD. Trying to launch my laptop with both drives installed causes it to freeze during the BIOS setup. I can press the BIOS options or use shortcuts repeatedly, but the screen remains unresponsive. It’s normal for all other functions to work when only the 980 is connected. The driver appears installed (see screenshot), yet it displays error 45 indicating the drive isn’t attached. I’ve tried putting the laptop to sleep, installing the SSD, and then waking it up—then a notification appears asking what to do with the new storage device (D, but it vanishes before I can act.
