Activating the left Ctrl key prevents me from pressing the ‘a’ key. Rapidly pressing both keys often causes the ‘a’ to stick, requiring a double-tap to resolve. This issue hinders my gameplay, particularly in games like CS:GO and Overwatch, where I want to be able to move while crouching. My keyboard is relatively new.

Update: Pressing left Ctrl doesn’t seem to impact any other keys besides ‘a’.
Further Update: 9/12/19 - I’ve tested a different keyboard, and the problem appears to originate from my computer rather than the hardware. I’m unclear on what might be causing a conflict between these two keys, and I'd appreciate any suggestions regarding potential software interference.

It’s conceivable that you may have inadvertently splashed liquid onto one of the control devices. My previous keyboard lacked any protection against moisture, and when I unintentionally spilled a beverage on it, approximately half of my key responsiveness ceased functioning. You could also attempt to remove the A key and left CTRL key, and examine underneath for any accumulated debris. Furthermore, don’t be overly concerned. If you are currently experiencing financial constraints and unable to purchase a new keyboard promptly, consider visiting a store such as Walmart for an inexpensive ten-dollar model – or explore local thrift stores, like Goodwill, to discover a more affordable option (but be sure to clean it thoroughly with bleach afterward!).

It appears there’s a computer issue, though the exact reason is unclear.
