During the pandemic, I accidentally spilled something sweet on my keyboard, causing the buttons to malfunction. Normally, I’d buy a strong alcohol cleaner, but I couldn’t find one at the store. So I asked for one and followed their advice. After cleaning with sanitizer and plugging it back in, the keyboard started to flicker and eventually stopped working completely, even the RGB lights went off. Anyone have suggestions on how to fix it? I own a HyperX Allow FPS RGB keyboard.

It seems like you were upset about something. I'm here to help. What happened?

Even with strong alcohol, you must allow it to dry for several hours or even overnight if possible. The substance needs time to evaporate so it doesn’t lead to a short.

It seems the early spillage (possibly cola) damaged the keyboard. The cleaning approach didn’t affect performance, and a wire brush on a drill might have sufficed without altering results.

I understood everything, but I’m unsure if there’s a way to fix it. Probably not, thanks for your thoughts.

I think the best idea would be to disassemble it and attempt to eliminate any rust. However, I don’t really believe there’s much you can do.

There could still be some presence, though you’ll likely need to update a few sections. I’m not sure what to say in detail. This isn’t something I specialize in.
