The kernel power 41 issue caused some confusion. Need assistance?
This device has been running for about four years. iBuyPower reported a kernel 41 issue in the event viewer, which led to frequent restarts. It would crash during streaming with Discord and while playing Overwatch 2, Marvel Rivals, and Hogwarts Legacy. I usually play a game for around thirty minutes before it crashes again. It seems the problem could stem from anything. My system specs include an i7-11700f, RTX 2060, 600W 80+ Gold, 16GB (2x8) DDR4 at 3000MHz, B560 DS3H AC-E1 motherboard. The error appeared after I changed the power supply and RAM simultaneously, moving to an ASUS TUF 850W 80+ Gold with 32GB (2x16) DDR4 at 3600MHz. I swapped the GPU from the RTX 2060 to a Radeon 7700 XT but it still crashed afterward. If a faster GPU would help, that would be great. I played for about thirty minutes of Hogwarts before hitting the crash. I shared this with Geeksquad who suggested it might be an OS issue, not realizing another factor could be at play. They didn’t test another machine to check the motherboard. They tested the 7700 XT four times and failed every time. I installed a GTX 1060 and it worked perfectly. However, they didn’t attempt any further troubleshooting after reinstalling the OS. We returned the device today, still experiencing crashes after the OS reset. They didn’t even consider the motherboard as a potential problem, which we suspect is the real cause. Now we’re using the RTX 2060 on our own rig—equipped with a Ryzen 5 1600, HP8309 board, 8GB DDR4 (uncertain size), 500W Bronze 80+, and GTX 1060. We swapped the GPUs and played both Marvel Rivals and Hogwarts Legacy without any issues. Could this mean Geeksquad didn’t explore enough troubleshooting steps, or is there a faulty motherboard? A detailed guide or replacement parts would be really helpful.
