Have you checked another device linked to this network connection? Did you attempt to start a separate Windows version or a GNU/Linux environment to observe any differences in the download process?

Using a different computer, I’ll report back. Could review MTU configurations? I remember in the early days of Windows 7 we had to adjust MTU settings and keep them below 1500 for stable connections, something I haven’t done in ten years. It’s possible there’s still an issue with the provider’s wiring. My father-in-law experienced frequent internet drops, while his TV service remained unaffected. It took four technicians to locate a faulty coax coupler at the pole. A single $1 part could have caused headaches for everyone involved.

What type of internet connection do you have? What speeds are being offered? Have you adjusted any TCP/IP configurations? Is another device connecting to the internet alongside you? Possible actions: Restart the network equipment and your computer, remove existing adapter drivers and replace them with the newest ones from the manufacturer. Follow these recommended troubleshooting steps according to Microsoft.

Ethernet speed 2.440 Mbps – not familiar with this setting. Occasionally my roommate does it, especially when they’re away. I’ve tried all three mentioned actions.
