I'm experiencing a lot of stuttering in all my games after about 15 hours of use. It only disappears when I restart Windows, but only for 10 to 15 hours before it returns. I keep the PC running nonstop and checked on Google that I should restart Windows once a week. The only programs I use regularly are Chrome with 15 tabs and PotPlayer with 5 instances. Other than that, I play games such as Assetto Corsa, Call of Duty and Euro Truck Simulator 2. What might be causing this?

I notice heavy stuttering across all games after about 15 hours of play.
Which titles are affected?
Please share the details.
PSU: Gamemax GP 650
https://gamemaxpc.com/gp-performance/3327.html
Device age:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...6X...=931697732
Category - E, clearly a low-quality PSU.
You didn't specify the model. What temperatures do you observe when stuttering starts?
I run my PC nonstop and found online advice suggesting weekly restarts.
Consider switching platforms or ensuring proper shutdowns.

My power supply unit is nearly four years old. I wasn't aware it was in such poor condition, but why does it only fail after 15 hours of use and then recover once Windows restarts? Even though my system isn't ideal, my temperatures remain stable during gaming sessions. The GPU rarely goes above 55ºC and the CPU stays close to that temperature while I'm using it. The games I play are quite old, such as Call Of Duty MW2 from 2010, which are much less demanding than the high-end games my GPU can handle well.

It might be a memory problem. Take one stick at a time and run.

I believe the optimal approach is to utilize HWMonitor/HWInfo to assess your system's performance during a new boot and at specific times. Additionally, examine Task Manager/Resource monitor/Performance monitor on fresh boot and when issues occur. It seems there might be an issue, likely related to abnormal CPU or memory activity.

I believe I've fixed the issue. I was employing one of those unnecessary memory cleaners that only freed memory it shouldn't have. Eventually I gave them up, and as a result my RAM usage has risen significantly, though the stuttering has ceased.

I've discovered that these memory optimisers act like bottleneck calculators and are essentially useless. It's better to focus on adjusting resources in Windows for improved performance rather than relying on such software. Also, the so-called 'PC Doctor' programs cause too much disruption with system resources and can't be relied upon to fix one issue without causing others.
