The issue with HDMI to VGA adaptors not working could be due to several factors.
Hi guys,
I recently bought a GPD Pocket 3 equipped with a built-in KVM module for my work. It functions well as a KVM device, but I’m facing a problem. The KVM display is only available in HDMI format, so when trying to connect to computers or servers that only have VGA ports, I need to make a conversion.
I’ve bought the following cables and adapters for this purpose, but they don’t work at all.
- HDMI to VGA cable: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07ZF8WFZN?r...tails&th=1
- HDMI to VGA adaptor (USB powered): https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0936TMHRB?p...ct_details
- HDMI to VGA adaptor (Unpowered): https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01E8DD6J6?p...ct_details
I tested it on a functioning computer and server using a standard VGA cable connected to an LCD TV with a VGA port. I also tried all the adapters on the same TV and another TV with an HDMI port, but still no video output. This clearly points to an issue with the cables or converters.
Any suggestions on how to fix this or find a better solution?
Let me know.
Thanks.
These are adapters converting HDMI to VGA, enabling a computer with HDMI output to link with a monitor or projector using VGA. You require a VGA to HDMI converter that permits connecting a VGA source to a monitor or KVM unit with HDMI capability. A suitable example is available here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00IDFGK1W

It might just be that straightforward. These converters function in one direction only.
