When I overclock my CPU, the PC restarts three times, and afterward the BIOS resets the CPU settings. I attempt to increase the frequency by +100mhz or +10mhz, but the same problem persists.

The Xeon model isn't officially compatible with your motherboard. It might function at standard speeds but likely lacks the capability to manage the CPU in an overclocked setup. Check the CPU support details here: https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/...upport-cpu. Which Windows version are you running? Your 2 GB of DDR 2 RAM could be a key factor in the problem from 2018.

Add 10mhz to the FSB? Yes, for the base clock (333 is the factory).

The Xeon model isn't officially supported on your motherboard. It might run at stock speeds, but it's unlikely to handle CPU overclocking effectively. Check the CPU support list here: https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/...upport-cpu. Also, note that 2 GB of DDR 2 RAM could be a key factor in your problem from 2018. https://www.delidded.com/lga-771-to-775-adapter/3/

It seems you've made changes to the BIOS and motherboard connections, but the system isn't functioning as expected. Try using a Core 2 Quad, which is inexpensive, and revert to the original BIOS settings before attempting to overclock.

You changed the BIOS and adjusted the motherboard pins, but it still doesn't work as expected? Try using a Core 2 Quad (they're very affordable) and return to the original BIOS, then try overclocking.

Yes. That's a motherboard mod that's changing the pin contacts. It's a "neat" project to do but if this is your main PC I think you're asking for potential trouble trying to overclock. Nobody knows what problems and / or actual hardware damage you may cause.

I believe having additional RAM would boost your performance more than simply speeding up the CPU through overclocking.

gasaraki :
I believe adding more RAM would boost your performance more than just upgrading the CPU. I completely agree with that. Also, the motherboard supports DDR 3 memory.
