I was upgrading my old PC to run COH2 with my brother at home. I had an i3, a 9800GT GPU, and could play at the lowest settings. I borrowed a GTX 650, which worked smoothly even at low settings until the match lasted an hour. Then I bought a used 660Ti and it performed well initially. After about 30 minutes, the game became unplayable, worse than my old GPU. My friends with a lower GTX 650 could play for an hour without issues, but the 660Ti failed in the later stages. I checked and saw that 5.2GB/6GB RAM was being used during the game. Anyone could help me sooner so I might return the GPU if it’s faulty.
It seems the poor power supply isn't delivering power correctly, particularly when using adapters. Another aspect to verify is the temperatures. It's also conceivable that the CPU is exerting more effort than usual because its old thermal paste has dried out, leading to overheating.
It seems the power supply might not be delivering adequate power, particularly when using adapters. Another aspect to verify is the temperatures. It's also conceivable that the CPU is exerting more effort now because its old thermal paste has dried out, leading to overheating. The temperatures recorded during the 20-minute stress test in AIDA 64 were:
CPU: min 27, max 54
core1: min 36, max 64
core2: min 36, max 66
Voltages: cpu core = min 0.912, max 1.072; +3.3v = min 3.312, max 3.344; +5v = min 4.946 to max 5.002
DIMM: min 1.568, max 1.584
GPU temperature 70°F fan speed 44%
