I constructed a 2500$ pc last month. It isn’t functioning properly despite everything appearing correct. Hardware: MSI B650 TOMAHAWK 4070 ti super Amd Ryzen 7800 x 3d Noctua NH-U14S 32 GB DDR5-6000 CL30 Teamgroup T-create MSI MAG A 850 GL. I’ve been attempting to run God of War (2018) and it’s consistently lagging across all settings. I updated my NVIDIA drivers and used GeForce Experience for optimization. I noticed the Display Port was connected to the motherboard, not the GPU, which didn’t resolve the issue when I switched it in. I increased the pagefile settings even though I doubted its benefit. Cooling seems fine. I’m only using about 20% of my CPU load. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time.

I recently reinstalled Windows 10 entirely, making no adjustments to any options except XMP.

I rebooted it several times after trying different approaches. The game runs smoothly for about five minutes before becoming extremely slow. It functions okay at first, though. I opted not to install the SSD with a Klevv CRAS C910 1 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVMe drive—considered affordable but thought it would suffice. Could this be the solution?

Reviews are solid and TLC NAND appears to be top-notch according to user feedback, making any concerns unlikely.

Maybe verify the energy consumption? Check if it's operating efficiently.

My understanding of "slow" depends on context, but generally refers to a pace or rate that is deliberately reduced or measured against a standard.

The game runs smoothly at 120 fps with only minor stuttering, especially in Ultra vs Low mode. The issue seems to be consistent regardless of settings. The FPS remains steady, but performance feels uneven. It might be related to power supply or cable quality.

Have you explored other titles? It might be specific to that game.

GPU-Z and MSI afterburner display usage rates, typically in watts or percentage of max power. The exact value depends on the device and settings you're using.
