The ISP router performs better than a brand-new TP Link router.
While using my TP Link router, the connection consistently reached 80 Mbps. On my ISP router, speeds reach up to 150 Mbps. Both devices are linked through a CAT 5e cable on the 2.5GB wan port. I suspect potential problems might be related to the Cat 5e cable between the ISP and the next router. Although speeds could theoretically go up to 1000 Mbps, there may be limitations. I'm wondering if there are other factors to consider—such as router configurations, firmware updates, or network settings. EDIT: My ISP is capping my internet speed at 80Mbps when using Bridge Mode to forward my Public IP to the TP-Link Router. TANGINA NIYO PLDT
Setting your ISP router to Bridge Mode limits the internet speed to 80Mbps, whereas Route Mode allows higher speeds. The Public IP address is stuck at 192.168.x.x, which prevents access to your TP-Link router. You’ll need your ISP to resolve this issue.
Hello, I have the device your ISP uses—router/device [1]. They’ve disabled all advanced settings like bridge mode, port forwarding, and many helpful options. I can only reach bridge mode through a workaround. I’m using router [2]. With the TP Link model I can set up port forwarding, DNS servers, and run a VPN on my own router. Check internet performance via speedtest.net and fast.com using the Ethernet cable connected to the AX90. Verify if QoS or Parental Controls are enabled on the AX90. Determine whether a VPN client was running on the device initially. Identify the ISP device that was connected when it first started use.
