The internet seems to be experiencing frequent interruptions.
I’ll try to make it as clear as possible. It sounds like your PC isn’t fully disconnected—like you’re still connected but having some problems. For instance, when using Discord or similar services, you can’t disconnect from them, but you might lose audio or video, and websites won’t load properly. Downloads also stop working. It feels strange and confusing. I’m not sure if the issue is with your router, your motherboard, a driver, or something else. You mentioned being close to your router and using Cat 6 cable, so maybe it’s related to that setup. I think you might want to try a new cable or driver first before checking other hardware.
Have some thoughts? I'm planning to experiment with a new chord this weekend.
What kind of internet link are you using? How much data do you pay your service provider for? What is the precise model and brand of your router and/or ISP equipment? Are there any physical signs indicating damage to the Ethernet cables, such as sharp bends, loose insulation, or exposed wires? At what rate does your network adapter adjust within Windows? When these disruptions happen, is your connection elsewhere active? Is someone on your network streaming, uploading, or downloading large amounts of data?
I replaced my cable, but it kept freezing. The latest freeze stopped my webpages and made me unable to talk or hear on Discord. I thought about how Discord might freeze my whole connection, but I noticed a pattern. It’s either Ethernet, 1G, or maybe something else. I’m not sure how to check right now, but I’ll find out soon. Also, it can happen sometimes—this crash happened while we were watching a Twitch stream, everyone else was sleeping, so it felt like just us two.
