Hey, guys. I installed Ubuntu Mate on an old laptop and wanted to give Linux a shot. I kept Windows as a backup. When I tried to open Firefox in Ubuntu Mate, it just said connecting for a while and failed. But Windows and other devices worked fine. Also noticed that using my phone's hotspot made the internet work, though I'm running low on data. Anyone have a solution? Thanks! TLDR: The connection doesn't work on my Wi-Fi, but Windows and other devices do. My phones' Wi-Fi works with Ubuntu too. Fix?

Use lspci or lsusb to locate your Wi-Fi card, then search Google for driver installation instructions.

I haven't encountered this specific problem before, so assistance may be limited. But you could try starting Ubuntu, connecting to the freenode IRC server, and joining the #ubuntu channel for support.
