It would have been better to ask sooner, but who exactly runs your ISP? You could have checked for compatible devices and options first.

Essentially a total waste of money company that my parents picked because it was cheap (FML). They’re switching soon to a better ISP, though. It’s named Utility Warehouse—just looking at the site would make you want the mercy of death.

I checked whether it's allowed to bring your own router. If you need something that works directly with their equipment, here are some options:
- Amazon link for an Infinity Archer VR400: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Wireless-Connec...B01LFGTEI6
- Flip support guide on setting up a TP-Link modem: https://support.flip.co.nz/hc/en-gb/arti...irst-time-
- Another Infinity Archer VR400 version with VDSL router: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Wireless-Connec...B013OXVA6M

DSL was my previous setup. I was near the end of the line expecting sluggish performance. Please note that your phone or DSL provider might differ from your ISP. The line service could be the problem, not just your ISP. Problems I faced: 1) After a service fix, I switched to a nearly unusable line with incorrect settings and limited bandwidth. 2) During rain or when trees were cut, internet speeds dropped significantly. 3) My DSL phone could handle both voice and data, but I had to switch to my cell phone because of bandwidth issues. 4) If you have analog phones, faxes, or similar devices, ensure they’re protected with a choke filter; otherwise, your DSL might suffer. 5) This advice may not be current, and results could vary.
