As soon as I start playing any video game, my download speed jumps down from 940mbps all the way to under 300mbps. When I shut down the game, it goes back up to normal fast speeds. I have no idea what is causing this problem at all. I am hardwired into an Eero router that connects to an EastLink modem. This happens if I start playing COD, Dota, or Hunt. If I stop the game while testing my speed, it climbs right back up to 940mbps from 300mbps. Any ideas on how to fix this? I'm going to try a full hard reset as a last resort just in case. Thanks!
What's up with that motherboard noise? It sounds like someone installed a network program that's trying to take over your gaming priority.
It is a new MSI Z690 motherboard with DDR4 RAM. I have installed the Intel network drivers.
Hello, I do have MSI center installed. I've swapped out the router for an AX3000 Asus instead of eero and things are still acting up. The Intel PROset utility shows this: Cable Test Results [2023-01-09 5:54:29 PM] : Cable Quality Status : Failed Cable quality is poor or no cable is connected. I'm wondering if my ethernet cable could be causing the issue? It's only 100ft cable though, not nearly 225 meters....
