As soon as I start playing any video game, my download speed jumps down from 940mbps all the way to under 300mbps. When I shut down the game, it goes back up to normal fast speeds. I have no idea what is causing this problem at all. I am hardwired into an Eero router that connects to an EastLink modem. This happens if I start playing COD, Dota, or Hunt. If I stop the game while testing my speed, it climbs right back up to 940mbps from 300mbps. Any ideas on how to fix this? I'm going to try a full hard reset as a last resort just in case. Thanks!

What's up with that motherboard noise? It sounds like someone installed a network program that's trying to take over your gaming priority.

It is a new MSI Z690 motherboard with DDR4 RAM. I have installed the Intel network drivers.

Hello, I do have MSI center installed. I've swapped out the router for an AX3000 Asus instead of eero and things are still acting up. The Intel PROset utility shows this: Cable Test Results [2023-01-09 5:54:29 PM] : Cable Quality Status : Failed Cable quality is poor or no cable is connected. Possible causes: Faulty cable, faulty connector, or a speed/duplex mismatch. Verify that the speed/duplex setting on the switch/hub is configured for auto-negotiation. Cable Integrity Status : Failed The test detected a bad connection. Distance to problem: 225 meters. _ Hardware Test Results [2023-01-09 5:54:48 PM] : Register Status 😛 assed EEPROM Status 😛 assed FIFO Status 😛 assed Interrupt Status 😛 assed Loopback Test(s) 😛 assed _ Connection Test Results [2023-01-09 5:55:22 PM] : Connection Status : Passed Successfully pinged gateway address 192.168.50.1 Cable Link Status : Passed This device is running at full speed. I'm wondering if my ethernet cable could be causing the issue? It's only 100ft cable though, not nearly 225 meters....
