I improved from 650Mb to 1Gb broadband. Before that, I usually had solid performance with 650Mb and sometimes reached 700Mb. After the upgrade, the connection has been unreliable. I contacted technical support who sent an engineer to check. He used a handheld device and reported consistent speeds above 900Mb. However, during regular tests it would drop to around 800-900Mb immediately, then decline to 600Mb or lower depending on conditions. My setup uses a Cat7 cable, WiFi disabled, and all LAN ports disconnected except one. Changing the router or cables didn’t fix the issue. I’ve tested multiple ports and cables with the same results. My system runs a Ryzen 5600X with an MSI x470 Gaming Carbon Pro board.

Did you try linking the laptop straight to the modem and checking the speed? If the outcomes match, the issue likely lies with the modem itself or your internet service provider’s connection.
