I issue a request for advice on how to improve my Wi-Fi situation. My internet connection works well during the day but causes interference in the evening when a neighbor’s extender is active. This makes accessing online services like Google difficult from my bedroom, which is close to the router and separated by only a thin wall. I’ve contacted my service provider who say the signal is too strong and suggest my current setup isn’t sufficient. I need recommendations on what devices or solutions would strengthen the connection enough for smooth 4K streaming on my smart TV and other devices in multiple bedrooms. Ideally, I’d like to upgrade without buying a new router or complex equipment, but I’m unsure where to start. I’m hoping you can suggest affordable options—preferably under $200—and give me some guidance on the best path forward. Thank you!

Several routers provide both 2.4GHz and 5GHz connectivity, does your model? Usually the 2.4GHz band gets crowded by many devices like your neighbors, leading to increased interference.

I’m considering switching to a router that only supports LAN, and I’m thinking about purchasing a new one. They suggested I could buy a Wi-Fi booster and pay for it through my monthly bill, but I’m hesitant about that option since they seem to want to restrict signals for others. It also came up whether many users nearby are using the same frequency, which might indicate a feature on routers to show interference levels.
