It’s possible that placing your SSDs in specific PCIe slots could affect graphics performance, but positioning them correctly shouldn’t impact PCIe graphics directly. For your Gigabyte B650E Aorus Master, ensure the drives are installed in standard slots and avoid overcrowding to maintain optimal airflow and thermal management.

It appears the information applies to your motherboard. Using M2A or M2D slots can fully utilize the GPU's x16 bandwidth. It’s unclear how the lanes split with Gen 3 or 4 cards, but a Gen 5 card should handle most of them, though older cards may not. The manual doesn’t specify this. A note mentions that splits could vary depending on the CPU used, adding another factor. By the way, your motherboard definitely has fan ports for a long time.

Just to clarify, if the diagram isn't obvious, sockets M2B and M2C will cut your GPU lanes down to x8. But sockets M2A and M2D will keep x16 lanes available for your GPU. Also, if it's still unclear, the board manages the switching internally—no physical switch to worry about.

I’m having trouble matching the components to their positions. From what you described, it looks like the main heat sink under the PCIe X16 has three slots, with one above it having one or two. You mentioned using the larger panel shown in the image.

They all began leaving out the manual for some reason. It feels foolish since it’s the sole document I keep when I own a motherboard. I always share it with the next person. Particularly now with these new setups and exceptions... it’s the only source for guidance. There should be labels on the board too. They’re usually tiny and written in white, but it’s a quiet way to indicate which port does what.

Sorry, the board didn’t label the slots clearly. Luckily I located an online guide to help.
