I planned a fresh setup on my 128GB SSD M.2 drive. On the screen, I selected the SSD, formatted it, and then cleared the partition to leave it unallocated. Despite this, I kept receiving the warning that the setup couldn't use the existing partition because the system volume lacked enough free space. It’s unclear if that matters, but there’s an old W10 partition on another HDD. After installing the new drive, I intended to remove the old one.

Create a fresh partition in the unused area and instruct the installer to place Windows there. The installation tool won’t recognize the 120 gigabytes of empty space and simply won’t suggest making a new partition.

Disconnect the other HDD connected to the system using the current Windows 10 installation and then attempt again. It will attempt to reuse the identical system partition, which lacks sufficient space for both operating systems. This could potentially damage your Windows 10 partition as well.

Yes, deleting the old W10 partition from the installer window should also work.

Yes, it's those two concealed sections on the storage device that cause issues. The EFI system partition and the Recovery Partition. Be aware that taking them out will make the Windows 10 operating system unable to start if you have any files stored there that you wish to retain.

It functioned correctly, installation succeeded. Appreciate the details. This shouldn't occur during the official setup process.

When setting up a new Windows installation, it's best to avoid linking extra Windows versions. Just like Windows can get mixed up with conflicting file locations, having multiple drives can cause confusion.
