Hello, I'm attempting to set up Windows 11 on an M2 NVMe SSD (Samsung Evo 980) via a PCIe connection using a Sabrent NVMe to PCI adapter. The Dell Precision 5820 Tower is the PC. During installation, no storage appears to be found. Could anyone help identify the issue? If the problem lies with a driver, should it be for the SSD or the PCIe to NVMe adapter?

there isn't a driver available for the adapter -
https://sabrent.com/products/ec-pcie
it's probably connected though...
is the drive visible in the bios? it seems to be hidden, which prevents it from being displayed in windows.

I assume when you refer to a "PCI adapter" you mean a PCIe card featuring an NVME M.2 port, such as the one listed here. If that's correct, the system already has an NVME M.2 slot, so no PCIe card is necessary—just swap the existing SSD. If you somehow locate a standard PCI card with an M.2 slot, but your machine only has a regular PCI port, then you won't be able to boot from it and should stick to the first suggestion.

What processor do you have installed? Which PCIe M.2 slot did you use for the adapter? Could you share a picture of your system with the side panel taken off (upload to imgur.com and include the link)? Depending on the CPU model, slot 1 might not be available.

I successfully resolved the issue. In BIOS SATA settings, "RAID on" was selected instead of AHCI, and it now functions properly. Thank you all for your assistance.
