I own a laptop (Sony VAIO PCG-3C1M) running Windows 10. I made sure booting from USB is turned on in BIOS and set USB as the first external device. Still, when it starts, it takes around 10-20 seconds to boot into Windows.

I used a bootable USB drive to install the software. I checked its functionality on another system to ensure it worked properly.

I saved the iso file from the official site and used 7zip to extract it onto a USB drive. I’m having trouble confirming the extraction works on another system.

Transfer the picture to the USB not pull out and paste the data. Use etcher for this https://www.balena.io/etcher/

Transfer the file by burning it onto a USB drive. Try Rufus, DD, Etcher, or similar tools.

Transfer the .ISO file onto the USB with tools such as Rufus. On a GNU/Linux system, use the command line to run DD.

It shouldn't have succeeded, Windows 10 involves more steps than Linux does. There are specific utilities for the Win ISO to USB process. By duplicating an image, you're creating a complete copy of all partitions and file systems onto your USB stick. If you skip this step, the BIOS can't recognize the boot data and references to other partitions will fail. There are a few exceptions, but generally you must make a full image copy, not just individual files.

I simply transferred the ISO file to the USB drive and it functioned correctly. How did you manage that?

Essentially, everything I understand is that it functioned.
