Hello! I recently assembled a new gaming PC featuring an i9-9900k processor and a gigabyte z390 AORUS PRO WIFI. For a solid month, everything ran smoothly with the CPU maintaining around 4.7GHz during gameplay, keeping temperatures near 65°C. Recently, I experienced a significant drop in FPS. Normally, I achieve about 200 FPS in Call of Duty Cold War, but I now see around 140 FPS. The CPU frequency has also fallen to 3.6GHz. When I power on the system, the CPU appears normal, but once a game starts, it dims and stays at 3.6GHz. I attempted to overclock the CPU to reach 5GHz, yet it consistently drops back to 3.6GHz upon loading any game. I explored BIOS settings but had no success. Intel XTU was mentioned as causing power limit throttling in-game. All troubleshooting steps I tried worked only on laptops. After a clean Windows install, the issue briefly resolved, but whenever I re-enabled XMP in BIOS, it returned to the same problem. Even after disabling XMP again, the same outcome persisted. I’m struggling to figure out what’s going wrong. Any assistance would be invaluable! If you need images or videos, just let me know. Thank you!
