I needed more memory, so I bought a single 8GB 1600MHz dimm to replace my 2x4GB 1333 dimm. With the old ones I could reach a 180 bckl and it worked well. Now with this new dimm I can't even boot unless I set everything to default, after which it starts and functions properly. I really hope it can reach a 160 bckl so my RAM stays at 1600 and the CPU at 3.2GHz. But I'm having trouble getting it to work even though I've seen others doing the same with the same CPU and motherboard, which is a DPDB5 board. I don't even know how to run the RAM at lower speeds.

Based on your description, it seems your motherboard requires a BIOS update. Let's check what happens then.

It is mentioned that your motherboard only supports up to 1333mhz. The 1600 you purchased seems unnecessary and could have contributed to the issue at hand.

I would reduce the memory setting to its lowest level (as far as possible) on the RAM multiplier, then attempt to increase the BCLK frequency on the CPU. After that, try increasing the memory again.
Incorporating DIMMS and/or increasing its capacity can slightly alter voltage requirements, causing greater instability with more RAM. This is why combining two separate 2x4GB kits can sometimes cause issues for high-speed memory. They should be tested together as a full package to ensure compatibility. Larger capacity kits also tend to become more costly as the number of DIMMS increases.
