The I5 2500K model does not reach turbo mode.
Occasionally during benchmark tests like burntest, my CPU only reaches turbo multiplier on the first run. In subsequent attempts it remains stuck at base multiplier even with full load. The temperatures are moderate, so I don’t believe it’s an overheating warning. When the test ends and the system returns to idle, it occasionally briefly activates turbo for short intervals, as expected.
Check out the details on how and when Turbo boost functions. Thanks. The source explains whether it's an electrical or thermal issue. Since the temperatures aren't extremely high, raising the voltage further might help. Anyone know what temperature triggers the multiplier to drop?
