@SolarPwr303 Consider testing ThrottleStop. https://www.techpowerup.com/download/tec...ottlestop/ Enable the Log File feature and play a game or perform tasks for roughly 15 minutes. After testing, close ThrottleStop to let it save the log file. It should be found in the ThrottleStop / Logs directory. Include this log in your upcoming post. Laptops slow down for various reasons—some are valid, others questionable. The log records throttling causes, helping you identify the issue more easily. Try disabling the BD PROCHOT option on the main screen of ThrottleStop; this is often the main reason for random crashes at 399 MHz.

Yes, you need to press the "Turn On" button afterward.

And now it won't cause lag spikes. A log file response might take a moment.

Occasionally just activating ThrottleStop is sufficient to stop lag spikes. Enable the Log File setting whether you're experiencing lag or not. This provides a reference point for performance data.

I talked to it recently (it wasn't working even when ThrottleStop was off). It repeated while I watched a video as a test. I enabled ThrottleStop and logged on (BD PROCHOT was active), and the "BD PROCHOT" signal appeared during lag spikes. I also ran HWiNFO and examined more closely. The high CPU usage was visible in the Max Column. Also, this doesn<|pad|>, not on battery—this suggests we're onto something. A text file is attached below. 2022-05-14.txt Edited May 14, 2022 by SolarPwr303 Corrections and additions.

The log indicates BD PROCHOT is causing the CPU to drop to 400 MHz. Clear the BD PROCHOT option on the main ThrottleStop display. Your log also records excessive EDP throttling, which shouldn't occur. Resolve the first issue and share ThrottleStop screenshots from the TPL and FIVR interfaces.

I overlooked that point earlier. Turning off PROCHOT resolved the lag spike. I noticed several "EDP in the logs" entries. Could you explain what EDP throttling means and where I should focus my fixes?

You didn't turn off PROCHOT, just BD PROCHOT. They feel alike but are distinct. Share ThrottleStop images so I can check your BIOS settings and unlocked features.
