Most of my games run smoothly at around 60-100fps, though it doesn’t feel that smooth. At 60+ fps it often looks like just about 30fps, but MSI Afterburner still displays 60+ fps. I’ve tried turning on v-sync without success. Here are my details:
Processor: i7 6500u
Graphics card: NVidia 940m 2GB
RAM: 8GB DDR3
Storage: 1TB HDD 5400rpm
Monitor: 60Mhz 15"
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

If MSI Afterburner refreshes the frame rate every second, it doesn’t offer a clear picture because it essentially records "X frames per second." This could indicate issues since it shows a high number of detected frames. You might need alternative tools such as RivaTuner Statistics Server or FRAPS to see actual frame times, which would give a more accurate view. That said, some game features like physics animations update less frequently by design.

This could mean that frame times are unusually long, or certain game features like physics animations update less frequently than expected.
