The headset and speakers function together as a single output device.
Hello!
I switched to Windows 11, and my speakers are connected to the front jack of my PC while my headset is plugged into the back jack. Instead of being recognized as separate devices like "Speakers" and "Headset," they both appear as one output device (Realtek® Audio). When I play sound, it comes from both at the same time.
After searching for a long time, I didn’t find any guidance on how to fix this.
I tried using Realtek Audio Console to separate them, but it didn’t work.
Anyone have suggestions? Is there a third-party tool that could help bypass this issue?
Thank you in advance!
Are you asking if they should have different sounds, is that the problem?
I would like to choose them separately, tapping the speaker icon on the bottom right, allowing me to pick either my speakers or my headset independently, just as I did in earlier versions. Windows 11 combined my front and back jack ports into one output device, so when playing music it plays from both at once.
I believe the method involves switching to 5.1 or 7.1 configuration.
Check the Realtek tool
It is simply referred to as "Realtek® Audio," identified as speakers.
I'm having trouble locating the appropriate setting. I was considering purchasing a 3,5mm jack to HDMI converter in case it would be recognized as a separate device.
Do you notice a tiny upward arrow pointing to the right next to the listed "Speakers"? There could be other devices included.
If you right-click the small speaker icon, you can also choose "Sound Settings" for output options.

Before buying anything, verify TR, TRS, TRRS (Tip, Ring, Sleeve) – mismatches can cause problems.
