Check for calibration options on related products to adjust the detection threshold. Look for similar features in other manufacturers' models.

I've observed on my XM4 that sensors often get blocked by hair, skin, and oils from use. It's a good idea to gently moisten a soft cloth before handling the sensor cover if you haven't already.
