The HDMI 2.1 optical fiber connection fails when a switch is present.
Hi everyone. I'm looking for a way to use a switch to send a signal from my PS5 to my bedroom TV via HDMI fiber optic without constantly unplugging the HDMI cable. I currently use a bi-directional UHDMI HDMI 2.1 switch with a power inserter between the switch and the fiber, but it doesn’t work. I’m not sure if the issue is with the switch itself or the setup. Anyone have suggestions on switches that can transmit through fiber optic cables? I’ve had no trouble with the PS5 side before, so it’s likely the switch is the problem. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Disable HDCP and test it. If the games don’t let you play without it on, then you won’t be able to enjoy them.
I managed to resolve this by pure yoloing it. I am using a LINDY 41080 HDMI Power Injector... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01AIODXNI?r...b_ap_share after a 4K 120Hz HDMI 2.1 Splitter 8K... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0C739QQ4Q?r...b_ap_share still deciding if I should keep the UGREEN HDMI 2.1 Switch, 4K@120Hz... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0CPY5Y7Y3?r...b_ap_share as a switch as I have not tested them in sequence yet.
Hi, did you check the Ugreen switch? I have a model that doesn’t work with my PC, HDMI, and fiber optic connection. At first I thought it wouldn’t support 8K 2.1, but looking it up I found problems with fiber optic HDMI cables and PCs, even the larger ones. I haven’t seen this smaller Ugreen in a real test using 4K 120Hz, VRR and HDR.
