The hd audio manager is not installed or available.
I changed my audio drivers using driver booster recently. Now I noticed the HD Audio Manager isn’t there. My 5.1 surround system isn’t working either. I got the audio driver from the ASUS Maximus Vii Ranger support page, but when I install it it shows “Windows 10 not supported.” I also tried downloading and reinstalling it from Realtek’s site, but nothing worked. The HD Audio Manager remains missing. In short, I restored Windows at the point before the driver update, but I got an access denied error saying “disable your antivirus.” After disabling it, the same message appeared again. Here’s the error window screenshot: https://prnt.sc/h5dx3u. Any suggestions to fix this? I really need the HD Audio Manager back.
Yes, there are unrecognized devices listed in the Device Manager, typically indicated by a yellow question mark.
This appears to be a common issue with the latest Realtek audio drivers. It seems the HD audio manager isn't being allowed to start because of the driver version. I recommend uninstalling the existing driver and the software, then reinstalling the newest version from the driver page for your board. This should resolve the problem since the list includes Windows 10 compatible drivers.
